Important dates and what should I be working on?

Monday, April 14th – parent response form should be signed and returned to school

Wednesday, April 23rd – all pictures must have been taken, placed on a memory stick and at school today. This week we will be learning how to use picmonkey, but you will be responsible for doing the majority of your photo-editing at home this week.

Monday, May 5th – all pictures edited, printed and at school today

Friday, May 23rd – all completed photo-essays due

We will be starting captions the week of May 5th, and introduction the week of May 12th!

Photo-essay criteria:


A good video that goes over the basics of digital photography.

We will be using the photo-editing website http://www.picmonkey.com/
Students can edit (crop, rotate, red-eye reduction, sharpen, lighten/darken, fix colour, etc.) and add effects, borders, shapes, speech bubbles, text as well as using the cloning feature to delete unwanted objects.

One of the skills that is taught in the Photo-essay project is how to write a well-developed paragraph. Students will be evaluated on paragraphing skills on both the biography and the introductions.
